Hilton Cheong-Leen : ウィキペディア英語版 | Hilton Cheong-Leen Hilton Cheong-Leen CBE (Chinese: 張有興, born 6 August 1922 in Georgetown, British Guyana) is Hong Kong politician. He is a former long-time Urban Councillor and former member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong ==Career== Cheong-Leen is the chairman and the founder of the Hong Kong Civic Association, which he founded in 1954. He was first elected as a member of the Civic Association to the Urban Council of Hong Kong on 1 April 1957 and also the Vice-Chairman of the Council. He served in the Urban Council until 1991. Cheong-Leen was appointed to the Legislative Council in 1973 and indirectly elected in 1985 and served until 1988. Cheong-Leen was instrumental in pushing for nine years of compulsory schooling.
